Players from other teams that you admired?
Mine are mostly pre Prem as today's players are largely diving poofs:

Tony Currie - Sheff U
Malcolm McDonald - Newcastle
Pop Robson - while at Newcastle, I was over the moon when he came to us
Roy McFarland - Derby
Denis Law - Them red cunts
Best of course

I'll think of some more later

Re: Players from other teams that you admired?
Always liked kanchelskis - cracking player

Also David Platt, largely initially because of his goal against beligium but then how he desperately tried to captain a woeful England team for years and having a really good scoring record from midfield

Loved Romario and fat ronaldo before he became fat. Also Ricardo was an absolute genius, especially at pretending the ball has hit him in the face. Stoichkov as well (basically Kate 90s Barcelona)

Random ones from other clubs we came up against include Tim Cahill (yes I know, but he was the driving force behind Everton's successes under moyes); les Ferdinand, especially at Newcastle with shearer - I could never understand why they weren't paired together for England; and Marc overmars and Robert pires (just a brilliant combination of flair out wide)

Re: Players from other teams that you admired?
Zico, (obviously), although that entire Brazilian team in the early 80's was a bit special. Shame they couldn't defend!!

Brits wise back in the 70's probably Kevin Keegan and then Kenny Dalglish. Still reckon Dalglish was the difference in that 81 League Cup Final Replay! 90's definitely Gazza. Could have been one of the world greats I think. Bit young to remember George Best but from what I saw on TV imagine what he could have done sober!!

Re: Players from other teams that you admired?
All different when it comes to admiration.

I admire the man more than I do their ability more often than not, so Bergkamp may have been a good footballer, but I wouldn't have pissed on the cunt if he was on fire.

The likes of Lineker, Gazza and Pearce gave me fucking great times following England, so admired them greatly when younger, as both also behaved as you should on a football pitch.

Shame Lineker and Gazza were a yids!!

Re: Players from other teams that you admired?
I understand your intentions Far Cough. Someone like Stuart Pearce - even before he came to us. I used to love Lineker growing up. The Milan back four in the 90s - Maldini, Baresi, Costacurta.

I've always been a fan of Fabregas, yes he's a cunt, but a footballer from the very top shelf.
